About this role

The Off-Campus Hospital Administrator oversees the 78-bedded Aga Khan Hospital in Hyderabad, a SafeCare Level 5 certified facility. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of Outreach Health Services and Off-Campus Hospitals Pakistan, the role ensures smooth operations under AKUH's not-for-profit model. AKUH provides comprehensive medical services across Pakistan with JCI accreditation.

Daily responsibilities include developing strategic plans, operational budgets, and monitoring clinical volumes and revenues. The administrator manages financial and human resources while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Leadership focuses on infection control and facilities management using evidence-based practices.

The role involves providing direction to the management team aligned with the organization's vision, mission, and objectives. It emphasizes building stakeholder relationships and liaising with government agencies. The hospital environment prioritizes patient safety in a diverse, inclusive culture.

Performance reports and business proposals drive continuous improvement. As a role model, the administrator promotes respectful relationships across faculty, staff, and communities. Opportunities exist within AKUH's extensive network of hospitals, clinics, and labs.

Requirements

  • Experience in hospital administration and operations management
  • Knowledge of SafeCare Level 5 certification standards
  • Familiarity with JCI accreditation and CAP for clinical labs
  • Proficiency in healthcare quality, safety, and infection control practices
  • Skills in financial management and budgeting for healthcare facilities
  • Ability to lead management teams in clinical settings
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance in Pakistani healthcare
  • Competence in stakeholder engagement and government liaison

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and operational budgets of the hospital
  • Provide leadership and direction to the management team ensuring alignment with organisation’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives
  • Ensure quality and safety priorities through execution of quality, safety, infection control, and facilities management standards
  • Monitor hospital clinical volumes and revenues
  • Manage and monitor financial and human resources
  • Ensure systems, policies, and procedures comply with approved standards and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare performance reports and business proposals
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders and liaise with government agencies
