About this role

Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and/or Diabetes Self-management Education/Training (DSMT) at Sutter Solano Medical Center. Exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis.

Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and support groups through competent assessment and attentive monitoring. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal care.

Collaborates with other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. Builds collaborative relationships with peers and staff to foster a supportive clinical environment.

Delivers complex care using a strong understanding of human anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory results, and medical terminology. Communicates sensitively to diverse audiences, including non-medical people, and retains new knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Master's degree OR RD/RDN evidencing the completion of the required level of education
RD-Registered Dietitian or RDN-Registered Dietitian Nutritionist certification
2 years of recent relevant experience
Strong understanding of human anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory results, and medical terminology
Excellent written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences including non-medical people
Well-developed time management and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize assignments
General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health records (EHR)
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions

Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
