About this role

The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon, part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider, is seeking a Radiographer to join their Imaging department. This part-time role offers 22.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

The Radiographer will perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures including general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, and mobiles. They will ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis while adapting techniques for paediatrics, bariatric, and limited mobility patients.

A safe, dignified, and person-centred service is provided, with patients informed and reassured throughout their examination. The Radiographer monitors patient conditions during procedures and responds to any signs of deterioration, while ensuring equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely.

Requirements

BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
