About this role
This temporary casual role supports the level four clinics, including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Osteoporosis, Respirology, and Rheumatology. The position facilitates efficient and timely access to specialty services through referral processing and scheduling. This is part of Women's College Hospital's commitment to equitable healthcare.
Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving new referrals, triaging according to established guidelines, and scheduling patient visits. You will also check patients in, greet visitors, and complete the checkout process, acting as the face of the hospital. These duties enhance the patient experience.

Requirements
- Proficiency in using electronic patient records (EPR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and referral triage processes
- Experience scheduling appointments and managing multiple clinic schedules
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and clinical teams
- Familiarity with cardiology, gastroenterology, osteoporosis, respirology, and rheumatology clinic operations
- Ability to handle confidential patient information in compliance with privacy regulations
- Reside and be legally eligible to work in Ontario
Responsibilities
- Receive new referrals and triage according to established guidelines
- Create patient record within the Electronic Patient Record
- Schedule patient visits and coordinate required tests
- Monitor clinic schedules to ensure all appointment slots are filled
- Manage clinician cancellations
- Prepare daily patient charts for clinic
- Book complex tests and follow-up appointments
- Check patients in and complete the checkout process
