About this role

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient rehabilitation team at St Stephen's Hospital for a parental leave cover position. In this role, you will work with patients to maximise their function and independence in their daily activities.

Our Occupational Therapy Service is frequently involved in the care of patients referred by specialist doctors across neurology, surgery, orthopaedics, oncology, palliative care, and medical units. You will deliver high-quality, clinical care within an outpatient rehabilitation setting, recognising the importance of multi-disciplinary approaches to rehabilitation.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting
Relevant qualifications and AHPRA registration
Strong, evidence-based clinical practice and problem-solving skills
Commitment to teamwork and high-level communication skills

Responsibilities

Work with patients to maximise their function and independence in their daily activities
Deliver high-quality, clinical care to patients within an outpatient rehabilitation setting
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient-centred care
Manage a caseload of patients referred by specialist doctors in neurology, surgery, orthopaedics, oncology, palliative care, and medical units
Apply evidence-based clinical practice and problem-solving skills to patient care
Contribute to a collaborative and open approach to rehabilitation
