About this role

The Assistant Allied Health Director is responsible for providing and overseeing the provision and supervision of professional care services of Allied Health Providers within a Patient Centered Health Home context, with a strong focus on access to care. This role ensures that clinical protocols and guidelines are implemented effectively across the network.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing departmental staff, conducting performance evaluations, and making recommendations regarding hiring, firing, and advancement. The director also prepares orientation schedules, addresses site provider needs assessments, and assists in professional staff recruitment activities to maintain a high-performing team.

This leader works within a collaborative, team-oriented environment that emphasizes core leadership behaviors and a culture of accountability and excellence. The role involves developing action plans that support the organization's strategic direction, empowering staff through effective communication and talent building, and delegating duties to ensure department performance.

This position offers the opportunity to directly impact patient care by providing primary care medical services while also shaping the programs and workflows that guide Allied Health providers. The Assistant Director will help design, implement, and execute network programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement based on performance metrics and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in performance management of departmental employees, including managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Ability to develop and manage action plans to support strategic direction and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated core leadership behaviors and a team-oriented approach.
  • Experience implementing clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Ability to provide direct primary care medical services, including examination, diagnosis, and documentation.
  • Accountability for attaining budgeted visits and meeting clinical care measures.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and adherence to workflows, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to assist in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management to departmental staff, including performance management, recognition, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Recommend hiring, firing, advancement, and promotion of managers, supervisors, and employees within the department.
  • Develop and manage action plans across assigned employee base to support strategic direction and organizational goals.
  • Implement clinical protocols and guidelines, and establish goals for Allied Health providers.
  • Assist in professional staff recruitment activities and prepare orientation schedules for Allied Health staff.
  • Provide direct primary care medical services, including examination, diagnosis, and accurate documentation of visits.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of programs at the Network.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for assigned departments and compliance with all workflows, policies, and procedures.
