Hospital Sisters Health System seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Core Lab at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. The role focuses on conducting tests using patient samples to detect health conditions and support physicians with diagnostic data.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics, AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS or MT program OR MLT ASCP and bachelor's degree with 2 years full time lab experience in an accredited lab.
Certification by a nationally recognized agency such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, or HEW is required; certification must be received within 180 days of hire.
Experience in an accredited lab is preferred.
Colleagues hired prior to January 1, 2020 are exempt from the certification requirement.

Responsibilities

Conduct a variety of tests on patient samples including blood, body fluids, cells, and tissue to detect health conditions.
Use biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers to study samples obtained from patients.
Provide accurate data to physicians and health care providers for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Perform laboratory procedures in the Core Lab according to established standards and protocols.
