The Staff Nurse provides patient care and supportive services directed towards positive patient care outcomes. This role maximizes patient involvement in the plan of care while improving service levels and reducing hospitalization length.
The Staff Nurse manages and provides care to the patient and family, directing and supervising nursing care by other team members. Responsibilities include assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care. The nurse prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership to the patient care team.
Teamwork, mutual respect, communication, and coordination define the environment where every interaction makes a positive difference. Patients and families benefit from integrated skills of all care team members. The focus is on patient-focused care in the Cardiac and Vascular Surgery Unit.
Staff Nurses maintain and seek new knowledge on evidence-based practice, patient care issues, quality improvement, and cost reduction. They adhere to current policies, procedures, and protocols while meeting mandatory educational and health requirements. Ongoing development supports current Ohio RN license and required computer skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing
- Current Ohio license or interim permit
- Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred
- Maintains current Ohio RN license
- Meets mandatory educational and health requirements
- Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions
- Maintains and seeks new knowledge related to evidence based practice, patient care issues, quality improvement, cost reduction
Responsibilities
