About this role
The ASC Registered Nurse OR provides safe, quality patient care in the operating room area. This role is essential for delivering comprehensive care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing the operating room for procedures, evaluating medical information, and providing direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients. The RN functions in both scrub and circulating nurse roles, assisting the surgeon and surgical team throughout each case.
The nurse consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Acting as a communication liaison, the RN keeps family members and the operating team informed and ensures comfort and safety of the patient during positioning and recovery.

Requirements
- Active RN license and certification as required by state
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Nurse
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Ability to build relationships with patients and display empathy and compassion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of healthcare systems operations such as EMR
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to develop patient care plans in preparation for surgery
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
