St. Joseph's Health is recognized for the expertise and compassion of its highly skilled and responsive staff. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse in the Recovery Department, you will provide exceptional care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.
In this role, you will monitor vital signs, manage pain, and assess patients as they emerge from anesthesia. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the nursing team to ensure safe and smooth transitions from the operating room to the recovery unit.

Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Previous experience in a recovery room, PACU, or critical care setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to patients in the Recovery Department following surgical procedures
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, pain levels, and recovery status post-anesthesia
- Administer medications and manage pain according to physician orders and protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure safe patient transitions
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
