About this role

Aptive is seeking a Healthcare Recruiter to recruit, screen, negotiate, and hire nurses and other healthcare professionals in support of our Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) clients. This role executes independent recruiting strategies to build and maintain a pool of active candidates that results in increased revenue and profitability.

Day-to-day responsibilities include cultivating a network of potential healthcare workers, selling assignments using a consultative sales approach, and negotiating compensation packages. The recruiter selects candidates based on skill level and client background, ensuring files adhere to credentialing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or four years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience supporting recruiting for a large healthcare or hospital system.
  • Experience developing recruitment processes and strategies.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare recruiting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of recruiting and employment regulations, policies, and practice (e.g., pay, interview, onboarding).
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with utilizing company database.
  • Keen knowledge of Indeed, LinkedIn, and social media recruitment sources.

Responsibilities

  • Implement independent recruiting strategies to recruit, screen, and evaluate healthcare workers based on clients’ specific needs.
  • Cultivate a network of potential healthcare workers to meet company goals.
  • Sell assignments to candidates by probing for unspoken needs using a consultative sales approach.
  • Select candidates and present to hiring managers based on skill level and background knowledge of the client.
  • Negotiate compensation packages with candidates while maintaining acceptable margin.
  • Ensure candidate files adhere to both business and facility credentialing requirements.
  • Maintain a database (e.g., iCIMS) with accurate candidate contact information, qualifications, and selling points, documenting all communication.
