About this role

Nova Southeastern University is seeking an Assistant Program Director for its CRNA Program. This role is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program. The position also includes faculty responsibilities with rank to be determined based on qualifications.

The Assistant Program Director assists in developing and supervising program activities and evaluating performance. They secure affiliation agreements with training sites, ensure compliance with regulations, and support curriculum coordination and instruction. The role also involves budget preparation and management and composing learning objectives and test items.

NSU is a not-for-profit, independent university with a reputation for academic excellence and innovation. The CRNA program is part of the nursing faculty, and the Assistant Program Director works closely with the Program Director, legal team, and external agencies. This position requires liaison with departments and external bodies involved in nursing education.

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential.
  • Terminal degree in nursing or related field (DNP, PhD, or EdD).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, and leadership.
  • Experience in curriculum development and coordination in a nurse anesthesia program.
  • Ability to compose, edit, review, and approve learning objectives and test items.
  • Experience counseling students with academic and/or personal problems.
  • Strong liaison and collaboration skills with appropriate offices, departments, and external agencies involved in nursing education.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations including medical liability, HRSA, HIPAA, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and supervising the activities and evaluating the performance of the CRNA program.
  • In coordination with the Program Director and legal team, secure affiliation agreements with training sites including compliance with medical liability, HRSA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Support the Program Director in the coordination, support, and instruction of the CRNA curriculum.
  • Provide critical liaison with appropriate offices, departments, and external agencies involved in nursing education.
  • Assist the Program Director with budget preparation and management.
  • Compose, edit, review, and approve learning objectives and test items.
  • Counsel students with academic and/or personal problems, referring to appropriate personnel or agencies as necessary.
  • Teach undergraduate or graduate course(s) in the classroom as assigned.
