Join a diverse, patient-centered hospitalist group at WVU Medicine - United Hospital Center, a 300-bed modern non-profit hospital with a 20-bed critical care unit. This role offers the opportunity to practice in Bridgeport, West Virginia, within a large community hospital setting that provides access to all medical specialties for consult.
Successful candidates will provide comprehensive inpatient clinical care to patients with diseases and injuries of the human internal organ system, while also establishing preventive health practices. The work environment is collegial and supported by a full spectrum of consulting specialists and strong administrative support.
UHC is a member of WVU Medicine, West Virginia's premier provider of advanced specialty care and the state's only academic medical center. The health system comprises 18 hospitals throughout West Virginia and bordering states, offering a collaborative and resource-rich environment for hospitalists.
This position offers flexible scheduling and recruitment incentives for a multi-year commitment. Bridgeport is an economically strong community located less than two hours south of Pittsburgh, with easy access to incredible recreational opportunities in North Central West Virginia.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible to obtain a state medical license
- Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine
- Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine
- All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient clinical care to patients with diseases and injuries of the human internal organ system

- Collaborate with a full spectrum of consulting specialists for patient care
- Manage patient care in a 300-bed modern hospital with an open 20-bed critical care unit
- Work within a diverse, patient-centered hospitalist group in a community hospital setting
