Daily work includes triaging calls, scheduling appointments across multiple providers in Next Gen, and updating records in EMA. Coordinators also handle medication refills, pharmacy updates, and portal activations so patients can access their own results.

The position operates within a well-lighted medical office alongside providers and clinical staff. Success requires independent prioritization of tasks, strong telephone skills, and consistent collaboration to meet weekly team goals.

Staff contribute to a culture of patient excellence by demonstrating compassion and professionalism in every interaction. The role offers the opportunity to work with minimal supervision while supporting high-quality dermatology care.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in a doctor's office with prior dermatology experience.
  • EMA Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
  • Certification preferred (Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician).
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills with professional appearance.
  • Competent with dermatology terminology needed to perform the job.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with patients and coworkers.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek advice.

Responsibilities

  • Contact patients daily to communicate pathology results effectively and answer questions.
  • Communicate with providers through emails or phone calls using dermatology terminology.
  • Schedule appointments with multiple providers using Next Gen Practice Management.
  • Triage phone calls and address patient concerns regarding pathology results.
  • Activate patient portals so they may view records or pathology results.
  • Update pharmacy changes and send medication refills when indicated.
  • Plan and prioritize daily tasks while working with minimal supervision.
  • Reach weekly goals as a team while creating a culture of patient excellence.
