About this role
Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital seeks an Occupational Therapist for a full-time role primarily based in In-patient Rehab with crossover into Acute Care as needed. The position follows a Tuesday through Saturday schedule with an 8am-4:30pm shift.
The therapist delivers evaluation, treatment, and education services in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include monitoring COTA and aide activities while completing patient evaluations and treatment plans according to established standards.
Daily work occurs within a 305-bed teaching hospital holding Level II trauma status. The role requires completing all service documentation, attending safety training programs, and following bloodborne and airborne pathogen protocols.
Team members maintain professional, respectful interactions with patients, families, and colleagues while promoting effective working relations across departments. License maintenance and evidence submission to supervisors are required within two weeks of receipt.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited OT school
- Successful completion of clinical internship
- Previous clinical experience or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Current State OT license
- BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Monitor the treatment activities of COTA’s and aides
- Complete evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and practice
- Plan and provide treatment to assigned patients as appropriate
- Complete all documentation of services per department standards
- Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety and job hazards
- Follow the hospital exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees
