At Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, the RN Clinical Supervisor contributes to a mission of compassionate behavioral healthcare. The supervisor ensures staffing, assigns code teams, leads the 7:00 huddle, and completes rounds to verify documentation, break assignments, and high-risk patient placement. Med room cleanliness and glucometer documentation are also inspected.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
- Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and respect for diverse populations
- Strong organizational and accountability skills for managing unit operations
Responsibilities
- Ensure staff call-ins are made at least 4 hours before shift start.
- Complete RN floor orientation and Clinical Supervisor orientation, and annual nursing competencies.
- Assure staffing for the next shift and assign code teams.
- Lead the daily 7:00 huddle and ensure rounds are completed with proper documentation.
- Round in the med room to assess cleanliness, including glucometer and required documentation.
- Hold staff accountable for performance, prohibiting phone use, sleeping, or unauthorized departures from units.
- Complete face-to-face assessments for emergency restraints and seclusion.
