Registered Nurses in the Surgery Clinics provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital care. You will utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for assigned patients.

Urology clinic staff nurses manage clinic patients in collaboration with the provider and care team, collect and acquire pertinent clinical records including labs, pathology, operative reports, and radiology reports, and perform phone triage. You will provide patient care coordination to ensure high quality care delivery and participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or Kansas, or ability to obtain
  • Knowledge of the nursing process and scientific principles
  • Ability to provide age appropriate nursing care for pediatric patients
  • Experience with clinic patient management and care coordination
  • Proficiency in collecting and reviewing clinical records including labs, pathology, operative reports, and radiology reports
  • Ability to perform phone triage and collaborate with providers and care teams
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and compassionate environment for patients and families

Responsibilities

  • Provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families requiring hospital care
  • Utilize the nursing process and scientific principles to deliver safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care
  • Manage clinic patients in collaboration with the provider and care team
  • Collect and acquire pertinent clinical records including labs, pathology, operative reports, and radiology reports/imaging
  • Perform phone triage and coordinate patient care to ensure high quality care delivery
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department
  • Provide clinical nursing support as needed to services reporting through the Surgery Clinics
  • Understand the surgery scheduling process and assist as needed
