When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. As a Medical Secretary, greet patients in person and over the phone in a courteous and professional manner. Manage front desk operations to support patient care and providers.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Register new patients, update information, process insurance eligibility, and collect co-pays. Handle incoming calls, messages, faxes, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
Maintain organized and confidential patient records, prepare correspondence, reports, and medical documents. Support medical staff with administrative tasks and keep the front desk and waiting area clean. Follow hospital policies on safety, attendance, punctuality, and display of ID badge.
Handle work-related information confidentially, respecting patient privacy as protected by statute. Demonstrate initiative to improve services and processes affecting quality. Adhere to compliance plans, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control, and patient safety practices like hand hygiene.
Job requires physical stamina with many hours on feet, ability to stand and walk up to 90% of time, push, pull, and lift 10 lbs. Participate in TB program and annual vaccine program. Subscribe to hospital’s mission, code of ethics, and standards of conduct.
Requirements
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
