About this role

The Infusion Nurse in Hollings Clinics/North Charleston Elms reports to the Unit Manager. Under general supervision, this RN provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the nursing process.

The nurse delivers safe and effective care while interacting with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and infusion therapies, monitoring patient reactions, and adjusting care plans.

This role is part of the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) at an offsite location in North Charleston. The work shift is day (United States of America) with 40 scheduled weekly hours in a clinical setting.

Eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus for ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Certified Nurses and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) holders. The hospital supports BSN advancement through an enrolled program within two years and degree completion within four years of hire.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; Associate or Diploma degree holders must enroll in BSN program within two years and obtain BSN within four years.
  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) or OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred (required for sign-on bonus eligibility).
  • Ability to perform physical demands: continuous standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, and other job functions as listed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level using the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe and effective care and interact with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies under general supervision.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and reactions during infusion treatments.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management.
  • Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted as needed for patient care.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the unit manager and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
