Daily responsibilities include examining patients using fundamental clinical knowledge, implementing treatment plans, and executing the plan of care on a daily basis. Ideal candidates have comprehensive knowledge of Hand Therapy screens, evaluations, treatments, and orthosis fabrication.

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in appropriate state (NY, NJ).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (Doctorate preferred).
  • Valid CPR License.
  • Minimum 1 year professional occupational therapy experience.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and interventions for patients with post-surgical and non-surgical upper extremity diagnoses.
  • Fabricate custom orthoses for patients with various orthopedic upper extremity diagnoses.
  • Collect and record patient care data following the format and guidelines of patient care services, regulatory agencies, and third-party payers.
  • Document initial evaluations, daily notes, reassessments, progress reports, and discharge plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed to maximize functional independence.
