About this role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for all nursing activities within the Operating Theatres and Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU). They will work closely with the CSSD team to ensure seamless theatre operations.

Coordinates patient care and manages surgical scheduling daily. Ensures effective communication and smooth patient flow across all perioperative stages. Oversees staffing, duty rosters, and operational planning.

Promotes teamwork and collaboration within the OR team. Supports team development through meetings, training, and feedback. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards while coordinating equipment maintenance.

Monitors patient feedback and participates in staff performance evaluations. Ensures implementation of infection prevention and control policies. Maintains strict aseptic standards, oversees instrument processing, and implements cleaning schedules.

Requirements

  • BSN or Diploma in Nursing from a qualified, recognised institution
  • Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing
  • Five years of nursing experience preferred
  • Operating room experience desirable
  • A valid practising certificate
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) policies
  • Ability to maintain strict aseptic standards
