About this role

The OHSU Division of Hospital Medicine’s mission is “To serve, connect, and educate in order to heal, comfort, and empower”. Faculty members are hospitalists focused on general medical care of hospitalized patients and pre-operative medical consultation. They engage in direct patient care, teaching, research, and leadership related to hospital medicine.

Clinical duties include operating as part of an inpatient medicine care team, admitting, managing, and discharging patients. Perform medical consultation and co-management with other specialties. Expect a mix of mostly day shifts with some swing admitting shifts, night shifts, and back-up shifts.

Faculty provide quality, compassionate, evidence-based patient-centered care and participate in service, research, and education. Closely affiliated with the OHSU Internal Medicine Residency Program and School of Medicine MD Program. Actively teach through classroom learning and 3rd/4th year clinical experiences.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree (or equivalent)
  • Board certification or board eligibility
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence in clinical setting
  • Advanced training in medical education (preferred)
  • Internal medicine residency training (typical for hospitalists)

Responsibilities
