6S Gastroenterology is a 36-bed medicine unit caring for patients with gastrointestinal diagnoses alongside general medicine patients. Care is delivered in a patient and family centered model on a multi-disciplinary team.

The unit brings together physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, dietitians and discharge planners to ensure safe high-quality care in a timely manner for the patient population.

Various rotating 12-hour shifts are offered in a fast-paced environment that supports continuing education and professional growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire
  • Strong BCLS patient assessment skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of patient conditions across the life span
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and intensive physical effort
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
