Occupational Therapists conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans for residents in senior living settings. They deliver direct therapy focused on improving performance in activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, and cognitive function. Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Florida (required)
- Senior living or similar experience preferred
- Ability to be accredited by all insurance payers
- CPR certification (per facility/state requirements)
- Strong interpersonal, clinical, and documentation skills
- A passion for resident care, progress, and functional independence
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and develop customized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy to residents in senior living setting
- Improve residents’ performance in activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, and cognitive function
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and strategies
- Document progress and modify treatment plans based on resident response
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure integrated care
