About this role
Evaluates, assesses and plans nutrition care specific to outpatients of all ages. Provides nutrition information to staff, physicians, students and the community individually and through group programs. Reports directly to the Diabetes and Outpatient Nutrition Manager.
Develops patient-centered treatment plans and completes comprehensive nutrition assessments. Manages workload and processes to meet patient care and diabetes office needs. Maintains a level of productivity that supports patient access.
Works in a clinical hospital setting with a multidisciplinary team. Participates in hospital and departmental initiatives and special projects. Manages insurance and charge requirements while completing hospital requirements.
Assumes responsibility for professional development and pursues continuing education to develop and maintain DSME/T knowledge and skills. Takes responsibility for individual performance goals. Performs other duties as assigned in a quiet work environment.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian - R.D.
- Licensed Dietitian - L.D.
- Five to six years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Masters Degree or five-year program)
- Experience working in a clinical setting (can include internship)
- At least 2 years experience in nutrition (preferred)
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team (preferred)
- Knowledge of growth and development of young and older adults in multicultural populations (preferred)
