This position diagnoses and corrects computer systems issues while providing hands-on system administration support. It includes system maintenance, operations support, and recommendations for software and hardware enhancements specific to pathology applications.

The role works across non-production and production environments with database administrators, security teams, and systems administrators. It serves as an escalation point and delivers on-call support after hours as defined by application requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring environments, applying patches, delivering application upgrades, and leading technical resources on configuration and integration tasks. The position completes assigned deliverables for configuration of applications, databases, servers, and security settings.

Requirements

  • Researches and answers technical application, database, server, and security configuration questions.
  • Works with third party vendors and software companies on technical issues.
  • Translates application, database, server or security requirements into technical specifications.
  • Completes configuration of applications, database, server or security settings and features.
  • Develops technical documentation for application administration development or support teams.
  • Participates in testing of newly developed applications, integrations, systems, solutions, and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and corrects computer systems issues.
  • Provides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support.
  • Recommends software and hardware enhancements.
  • Builds, configures, and troubleshoots software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades specific to Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Provides technical support for non-production and production environments, including troubleshooting and remediation of technical issues.
  • Serves as an escalation point for support and provides on-call support after hours.
  • Monitors environments and works with database administrators, security, and systems administrators to provide performance tuning.
  • Applies patches and delivers minor and major application upgrades.
