About this role

Ensure the efficient maintenance and smooth operation of the Operating Room (OR) to support high-quality and effective surgical services. Accountable for the timely and effective delivery of all OR services in alignment with Theatre Nursing standards and protocols. This role demands precision and adherence to established procedures.

Foster a positive and efficient working environment through strong teamwork and effective preparation of working areas. Set up cases adequately, adhering to infection control standards while maintaining sterility of all equipment. Demonstrate versatility across perioperative roles including scrub nurse, circulating nurse, anaesthetic assistant, and PACU responsibilities.

Maintain patient safety at all times throughout the perioperative period. Organise the operating room efficiently, initiating damp dusting and ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques pre-, intra-, and post-operatively. Uphold patient confidentiality and act as a dedicated patient advocate.

Possess excellent communication and report-writing skills to proactively identify anomalies and take appropriate corrective actions. Knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of various surgical instruments and equipment specific to different procedures. Contribute to a collaborative department focused on high standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Theatre Nursing
  • Minimum of two years of current full-time experience as an OTN
  • Current licensure
  • Good knowledge of instruments used in the Theatre and packs
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Computers
