About this role

Serving at our health system’s most advanced cardiac catheterization laboratory, the UH Lake West Medical Center Cath Lab performs state-of-the-art procedures in coronary, peripheral, and aortic interventions. Cardiac Cath Lab RNs scrub, circulate, or monitor cases for well-rounded experience. This role provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care using the nursing process.

Working four 10-hour days from 7 am to 5:30 pm, the schedule supports focused patient care. RNs take call and must arrive at the hospital within 20 minutes. This ensures rapid response for complex interventions.

The team operates in a high-acuity environment handling advanced cath lab procedures. Collaboration optimizes patient care and clinical operations. Technical skills with monitoring devices support positive outcomes.

RNs develop self and contribute to nursing practice while displaying leadership for optimal results. Experience in this lab builds expertise in specialized cardiac care. Additional duties align with department policies during orientation.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • 1 year of RN experience in Emergency Department or ICU (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs (Required proficiency)
